On February 28th, partners of the Circular Foam project came together for a two-day workshop at TU Dortmund, aiming to explore current advancements, plan future steps, and foster collaboration. The workshop served as a platform for engaging discussions, aimed at identifying challenges and formulating innovative solutions.
Along with roundtable discussions and brainstorming sessions, various presentations were held during the workshop, including the technological advancements in the mechanical recycling of PUR rigid foams by Elisangela Gomes (Interzero), supply chain optimization by Merve Özkan (TU Dortmund), and LCA analysis by Martin Pillich (ETHZ). Additionally, Ruhr Universität Bochum shed light on the stakeholder engagement strategies and the socioeconomic implications of transitioning towards circular business models.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee behind this fruitful event, comprising Prof. Sebastian Engell, Prof. Sergio Lucia, Vanessa Wojcik, and Dorota Pawlucka from Covestro. Their efforts and guidance ensured the success of the workshop.
