From December 16th to 19th, 2024, Joshua Adamek and Prof. Sergio Lucia, representing the Chair of Process Automation Systems, participated in the prestigious Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held in Milan, Italy.
This annual event, organized by the Control System Society (CSS), stands as the largest global conference in the expansive field of control science and technology, attracting over 2,000 attendees from leading research institutions and industrial organizations worldwide.
Joshua Adamek showcased collaborative research conducted with colleagues Moritz Heinlein and Lukas Lüken. Their work, titled:
J. Adamek, M. Heinlein, L. Lüken, and S. Lucia, "Deterministic Safety Guarantees for Learning-Based Control of Monotone Nonlinear Systems Under Uncertainty,"
IEEE Control Systems Letters, vol. 8, pp. 1030-1035, 2024, doi: 10.1109/LCSYS.2024.3407635,
was featured both as a conference presentation and as a publication in the IEEE Control Systems Letters (L-CSS) journal.
Prof. Sergio Lucia made a significant contribution to the conference, serving as a session chair and co-authoring a research paper that was presented during the event. The paper, titled:
F. Messerer, K. Baumgärtner, S. Lucia, and M. Diehl, "Fourth-Order Suboptimality of Nominal Model Predictive Control in the Presence of Uncertainty,"
IEEE Control Systems Letters, vol. 8, pp. 508-513, 2024, doi: 10.1109/LCSYS.2024.3396611,
was a collaborative effort with Prof. Moritz Diehl’s research group from the University of Freiburg and was presented at the conference by Florian Messerer.
This participation highlights the Chair of Process Automation Systems' dedication to contributing to research and collaboration in the field of control systems.
